Hairstyles 2012 - Spring/Summer

It’s that time of year again, fashion week is over and everyone’s talking about this year’s Spring/Summer Fashion Trends. It seems that this season’s catwalk looks are a mixed bag, from the overly dramatic to minimalist, but the great thing is that there is something for everyone.

Here is a round-up of the Top Hairstyles hot off the runway:

The Centre Parting
If you are looking for cool and casual with minimal effort, this is it. The 70’s inspired look is all over the fashion runways this season. This is a versatile look that is best worn with straight or tousled hair, but can also be tied up loosely at the nape of the neck.

Retro
These vintage-inspired looks were popular on the runway this season, with a modern twist. From barrel curls to finger waves and chignons, you can achieve a look to suit all occasions.

Romantic Braids and knots
This is not a new trend, but this seasons looks seem to be edgier. Twists and braids can be worn on a day out to the shops or on a special night out. Opt for the quirkier tightly woven corn rows, beehive twists or settle for the more simple side plait.

The Wet Look
This look proved to be popular at a number of the fashion shows this season. This can be a tough look to achieve without looking scraggy and over gelled, but when done right it can make a serious statement. As seen on the runway, the wet look can work with buns, ponytails or when the hair is pulled back and wet/gelled at the front.

Wrapped up
Head scarves were all the rage on the catwalk this season. This casual look can be worn on the beach or out to a casual dinner. These colourful accessories can be worn over a wet look or the retro curls to give it that extra flair.
